Project Parivartan is an initiative taken up by the social wing of the Finance and Investment Cell, Hanraj College. The project aims at promulgating financial literacy towards the underprivileged sections of the society. The first 2 editions of Project Parivartan have impact 13000+ people in 35+ cities. We aim to create greater impact by spreading financial knowledge and working towards bringing about a change in the mindset of society when it comes to finance. Research on Universal Basic Income Router linked ABSTRACT The concept of Universal Basic Income, a periodic and unconditional cash payment to all citizens, has gained renewed attention in the recent past amid growing concerns of Technological unemployment in advanced economies. Recently economists all around the world have advocated the case for a UBI, where cash distributed to all citizens, regardless of their income, will contribute towards social reform and emerge as a powerful tool in poverty alleviation. Firstly, this paper throws light on the legal aspects of the idea pertaining to UBI laying emphasis on the concept of substantive dignity, which acts as a basis for all rights and freedoms available to the citizens. Further, this paper analyses whether UBI is the way forward along with its feasibility by scrutinizing the success of UBI pilots undertaken in different parts of the world. In the last section of this paper, we have given some policy recommendations which include a phased 10-year program and redirection of funds which will provide a layout of a possible implementation of this much-desired program. Our Mission The Finance and Investment Cell, Hansraj College is a voluntary group of students aiming to disseminate quintessential knowledge on finance, investment, and related aspects through the conduct of its activities throughout the year. About FIC Hansraj The Finance and Investment Cell, Hansraj College embarked upon its journey to promulgate financial literacy in the year 2014. Taking into note the need for one roof for finance, we started with our own newsletter, a venture that was ideated and implemented in 2020 with the name “The Finance Gazette” garnering over 8500 subscriptions in a short period of time. Adding a feather to the cap, FIC is now the first society in Delhi University to have their newsletter published on the official college website. One of the biggest Student Driven Pan-India Financial Literacy Drives PARIVARTAN Anchor 1 Overview Project Parivartan was a Pan India initiative undertaken by the social wing of the Finance and Investment Cell, Hansraj with the aim to integrate both social responsibility and finance. The 20-day long financial drive included Pan India surveys, financial literacy sessions in NGOs, reports and a concluding conference. The largest Pan India financial literacy drive, Parivartan has impacted over 5000 individuals across 30+ cities and pledges to continue sensitising the society about the importance of finance. Anchor 2 Surveys Surveys were undertaken by the members of the society in an attempt to understand and get a realistic picture about the financial literacy and financial inclusion amongst various stakeholders of the society like house helps, Kirana store owners, vendors, housewives and so on. The questionnaire, including the interviewer instructions were translated into local languages. The information so gathered was analysed and a detailed report was prepared. NGO Sessions More than 20 NGO sessions, both online and offline, were conducted where the members went to the respective NGOs to take sessions on financial literacy. Fun activities were undertaken to help the listeners feel at ease and then lectures were conducted. Proper curriculum was prepared and the sessions were delivered according to their age and other requirements of the receivers.
